“The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” Episode 1 Korean Drama Ratings

tvN’s new K-drama, “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” has premiered.

On 11 May, tvN’s weekend drama “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” premiered with an average of 5.2% and a high of 6.4% among households nationwide on Nielsen Korea’s paid platforms, ranking first in its time slot, including cable and pay-per-view.

In the metropolitan area, it averaged 6.3 percent and peaked at 8 percent among households.

The episode began with the daily routine of Seo Hye-Jin (Jung Rye-Won), a 14-year veteran lecturer.

Seo Hye-Jin is a star instructor in Daechi-dong due to her excellent teaching skills and impeccable grooming, and she is also the signature of her cram school, Daechi Chase.

Seo’s life was full of focus on his students, but then an unexpected event happened.

A student’s interpretation of a Korean language question on the midterm exam was inconsistent with the teacher’s correct answer.

The students went to their Korean teacher, Pyo Sang-Sup (Kim Song-Il), who urged them to appeal, but Pyo refused to accept their appeal.

The parents were worried, so Seo Hye-Jin went to see him herself, which led to a conflict between Seo Hye-Jin asking for a retest and Pyo Sang-Sup, who realized that Seo Hye-Jin was an instructor at the academy and not a parent.

At the end of the day, Seo Hye-Jin drinks alone in the lobby of the academy after everyone else has left.

As she looked at the list of Daechi Chase’s scholarship recipients, she saw the first scholarship recipient.

It was Lee Joon-Ho (played by Wi Ha-Joon), who had surprised everyone by performing a miracle, rising from 8th to 1st class through Seo Hye-Jin’s efforts.

When Seo Hye-Jin saw the miracle she had created, she forgot about what had happened during the day and talked to him in excitement.

The next day, Seo Hye-Jin finds out that Lee Joon-Ho is taking the test to become a new instructor at Daechi Chase.

Surprised, Seo Hye-Jin pulled him aside. He answered her barrage of questions, starting with his motivation for applying, “I need to make dozens of times more than I’ve been making in ten years at the company,” and continued with a series of lighthearted and clear answers.

The more frustrated Seo Hye-Jin became, the more she listed the disadvantages of being an academy instructor, such as not being able to have a relationship, but Lee Joon-Ho laughed it off saying, “I’ll take care of it.”

Then, Lee Joon-Ho suddenly joked, “Call me ‘teacher’, I think it would feel pretty good.” Seo Hye-Jin is caught between embarrassment and bewilderment, and Lee Joon-Hho has no intention of backing down.

The ending, with the two of them facing each other, raised the excitement level by showing the changed relationship between the two who had begun to deviate from their paths.
