“Frankly Speaking,” a drama featuring Go Kyung-Pyo’s unique comedic performance, opened with a 1 percent viewership rating.
According to Nielsen Korea, the ratings for the first episode of JTBC’s “Frankly Speaking,” which premiered at 8.50 p.m. on Wednesday, were 1.9 percent.
The previous day’s broadcast depicted the social life of Song Ki-Baek (played by Go Kyung-Pyo), a talented announcer whom everyone recognizes.
He is compelled to always appear polished and perfect, and can’t take no for an answer.
He arrives at work two hours early to help the announcer’s son film his job experience, and when a broadcast accident occurs, he takes the blame by writing a report even though it wasn’t his fault.
Eventually, Song Ki-Baek’s life is changed by an unfortunate accident when he is asked to appear on an entertainment program instead of the news.
He is electrocuted during filming, and after regaining consciousness, he is unable to lie.
He can’t even make normal sounds, and he becomes a harsh critic.
The scenes in which the protagonist lets out the truth bring catharsis and laughter.
Kang Han-Na, who appeared as entertainment writer On Woo-Ju, also energized the drama with her bright and lively energy.
