Below are the viewership ratings for episode 4 of Rowoon and Cho Yi Hyun starrer “The Matchmakers.”
“The Matchmakers,” also known as The Wedding Battle, tells the story of the meeting of young widower Shim Jung Woo (played by Rowoon) and young widow Jung Soon Deok (played by Cho Yi Hyun), as well as the struggle the two face together to marry off Joseon era unmarried women and men who are considered older than the typical prime age range.
The two leads are played by Rowoon and Cho Yi Hyun.
Rowoon plays the role of Sim Jung Woo, a bright and attractive young man. He was the youngest person to place first in the state exams, yet he was chosen to marry the princess. The princess died unexpectedly during their wedding ceremony. Sim Jung Woo’s life altered, and he became the unluckiest guy. According to Joseon era custom, he is not eligible for a government position and is not permitted to remarry. He subsequently falls in love with Jung Soon Deok.
Cho Yi Hyun portrays the role of Jung Soon Deok, a widow whose late spouse was the first vice-premier’s second son. She covertly lives another life under the alias Yeo Joo Daek. She works as a matchmaker and a seller of women’s items such as cosmetics and accessories under the name Yeo Joo Daek. She is the finest matchmaker in Hanyang, the capital city. Sim Jung Woo and Jung Soon Deok become involved and work as matchmakers to persuade elderly unmarried men and women to marry.
The average nationwide ratings for Episode 4 of the Korean drama was 3.9%, a slight decrease from last episode.
Episode 5 of “The Matchmakers” will air on 13 November 2023.
