Korea-Khitan War (directed by Jeon Woo Sung, Kim Han Sol and written by Lee Jung Woo ) is a historical action drama which deals with the second and third periods of the Goryeo-Khitan War. King Hyeonjong of Goryeo and his political teacher, Commander-in-Chief Gang Gam Chan, unite the people of Goryeo and lead a war against Khitan.
The special project commemorating KBS’s 50th anniversary is lead by Kim Dong Jun who stars as King Hyeon Jong Of Goryeo.
Kim Dong Jun plays the role of Hyeon Jong, the eighth ruler of Goryeo and the monarch who helped establish the foundation of the Goryeo dynasty. After becoming King at the age of 19, Hyun Jong experienced a difficult start to his reign when his kingdom was invaded by 400,000 Khitan troops, but with the help of his political mentor General Kang Gam Chan, he repelled the invasion and led Goryeo to victory.
The average nationwide ratings for Episode 1 of the “Korea-Khitan War” Korean drama was 5.5%, an amazing start for the special project.
