Ji Chang-wook and Shin Hye-sun’s healing romance Kdrama has been gaining a lot of attention in OTT (online video service) market.
As of the 12th, “Welcome To Samdalri” ranked first on Netflix Korea’s Top 10 and TVING’s Top 20, respectively. The TV series premiered on the 2nd of this month, and within two weeks of airing, the series has proved to be extremely popular on both Netflix and TVING.
“Welcome To Samdalri” Plot
“Welcome to Samdalri” is a korean drama where the story revolves around two childhood friends, Jo Yong-Pil (Ji Chang-Wook) and Jo Sam-Dal (Shin Hye-Sun).
After losing his mother to a mistaken weather report, Yong Pil decides to become a weather forecaster to protect the elders of his hometown. However, his passion and refusal to let misinformation slide earns him a reputation as a stubborn troublemaker.
On the other hand, Sam-Dal moves to Seoul to pursue her dreams of becoming a successful fashion photographer, and goes by the name of Jo Eun-Hye.
However, when her life suddenly falls apart, she returns to her hometown, where she reconnects with Yong-Pil. Despite an incident that drove them apart, the two friends find their affection for each other is still as strong as ever.
What Has Happened In Episode 1-4 In “Welcome To Samdalri”
From episodes 1 and 2, where we get a glimpse of Yong-pil’s pure love life, to episodes 3 and 4, where we see the chemistry between Yong-pil and Sam-dal, the drama has been delivering excitement and laughter as it moves from comedy to romance.
“Welcome To Samdalri” Nationwide Ratings
The ratings are also doing well. According to Nielsen Korea, “Welcome To Samdalri” started with 5.2 percent and reached 6.5 percent after four episodes (nationwide).
It will be interesting to see if “Welcome To Samdalri,” will continue its upward trend.
