In the Korean drama “Welcome to Samdal-ri” (writer Kwon Hye Joo, director Cha Young Hoon), there is a group of friends who have been together for eight years.
They are the “Eagle Five” – Cho Yong-pil (Ji Chang-wook), Cho Sam-dal (Shin Hye-sun), Wang Kyung-tae (Lee Jae-won), Cha Eun-woo (Bae Myung-jin), and Sang-do (Kang Young-seok) – who have been travelling around Samdal-ri since they were children.
Having spent 30 years together chanting “We’re a set”, they have developed a true friendship that money can’t buy.
The on-again, off-again relationship between Sam-dal, the leader, and Yong-pil, the deputy leader, has caused the other members of the Five Eagles to lose touch with Sam-dal, but they’ve always watched her soar in Seoul, fulfilling a long-held dream.
Even when Samdal was in the news for bullying her juniors, they were worried about her all day long, which is why they were so happy to see her again after eight years.
Sam-dal, on the other hand, doesn’t want to announce her comeback, so when she bumps into Kyung-tae and says, “I’ll see you later,” he doesn’t have the foresight to bring Eun-woo along with him and hangs out in front of her house.
Sang-Do, who hadn’t seen her in a while as he’d been busy working in the shop, was also encouraged by Kyung-Tae’s mention of Sam-Dal’s return and headed over to her house.
However, the reunion of the “five eagle brothers” after eight years was not what they thought it would be, as it was filled with misunderstandings and tears.
With the whole town buzzing with talk of Sam-dal’s return, Kyung-tae is tempted to go and distract her, the kindest thing he could do for Sam-dal, who has been through this situation more than he has.
However, Kyung-tae’s sincerity, which he had clumsily expressed earlier, was misinterpreted as “I’m happy that Sam-dal is ruined,” and Sam-dal burst out with the emotions she had been holding back by pretending to be fine.
Yong-pil, Kyung-tae, Eun-woo, and Sang-do also had to blush with pity as they watched Sam-dal shed tears like a child.
Today (16th), they unite as one to protect their leader Samdal. Yong-pil, Kyung-tae, Eun-woo, and Sang-do were caught at the police box, and the clue to why was in the preview for episode 5, which was released shortly after the last episode.
Ahn Ji-gi (Kim Dae-gon), who has been relentlessly biting Sam-dal since Seoul, has finally made an appearance in Samdal-ri.
Yong-pil, Gyeong-tae, Eun-woo, and Sang-do are on hand to defend their leader as he is expected to cause quite a stir here as well.
Sam-dal watches them from the outside with a nervous heart, but seeing the four of them standing like a solid shield gives her the confidence that they’ll be able to work things out.
“Today, it will be an episode where you can feel the explosive friendship of the ‘Five Eagle Brothers’ who met for the first time in eight years and became a set,” the producers promise, adding to the anticipation by saying, “Please enjoy and watch what kind of diverse events will happen in Samdal-ri, where an anchor floats, and how Yong Pil, Kyung Tae, Eun Woo, and Sang Do, will protect Samdal in crisis.”
Episode 5 of “Welcome to Samdal-ri” will air on 16 November at 10:30pm on JTBC.
