Premiering on the 30th, KBS’s new Korean drama “The Matchmakers” is a comic matchmaking drama in which a young widower and a young widow meet and try to get elderly widows and an elderly bachelors married in the Joseon Dynasty.
“The Matchmakers” is attracting attention because it is a collaboration between writer Ha Soo Jin, who boasts an amazing writing style, director Hwang Seung Gi, who shined with his delicate direction in “Into the Ring” and “Radio Romance,” and actors Rowoon and Cho Yi Hyun, who charmed everyone with their irreplaceable performances.
Adding to this is the cast of Jung Shin Hye, Park Ji Young, Jo Han Chul, Lee Hae Young, Park Ji Won, and Choi Hee Jin, who will portray unique characters based on their solid acting skills.
The two “special posters” raise the curiosity of the audience by showing Shim Jung Woo and Jung Soon Deok in the center as the ones who lead Joseon’s matchmaking project. The seven “Joseon soloists” who will be involved in the project: Maeng Ha Na (Shin Jung Hye), Maeng Doo Ri (Park Ji Won), and Maeng Sam Soon (Jung Bo Min) as well as Jung Soon Deok’s sister-in-law Jo Ye Jin (Oh Ye Joo), Jung Soon Deok’s older brother Jung Soon Gu (Heo Nam Joon), Hanyang City’s best husband-material Lee Si Yeol (Son Sang Yeon), and farmer Yoon Boo Gyeom (Choi Kyung Hoon).
The production team said, “The two “special posters” were created to raise the anticipation of Shim Jung Woo and Jung Soon Deok who went out of their way with Joseon’s matchmaking project, and the seven members, who will create hilarious episodes in the midst of their operations.”
“We hope it will be a Monday and Tuesday night where you can laugh to your heart’s content and be excited to your heart’s content with ‘The Matchmakers’,” they added.
KBS’s new Korean drama “The Matchmakers” will premiere on Monday, 30 October at 9:45pm.
