‘Gyeongseong Creature’ (written by Kang Eun-kyung, directed by Jung Dong-yoon), a story about two young people who face a monster born out of greed in the spring of 1945, when the darkness of the times was at its darkest, has released a preview video and stills that preview the story of Part 2, raising expectations.
In the Part 2 stills released today, Maeda (Soo Hyun) looks at the bottle containing the parasite ‘Najin’ with a strange expression, hinting at the possibility of another monster being born.
Writer Kang Eun Kyung said, “Maeda is a character who has all the money and power, but in the end, she has a complex of not being recognised by the people she wants to be recognised by.
That hurt plays a role in the drama’s dramatic twist.” It will be interesting to see if Maeda’s secret of secretly supporting Ongseong Hospital will be revealed in Part 2.
Tae-sang (Park Seo-joon) and Chae-ok (Han So-hee) had a touching reunion. Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee, who showcased a romance that seeps into each other, said, “We focused on the process of Tae-sang changing as he feels compassion for Chae-ok” (Park Seo-joon) and “We tried to express in detail the process of Tae-sang entering Chae-ok’s fence” (Han So-hee), and it is interesting to see how the relationship between Tae-sang and Chae-ok will change in Part 2.
On the 4th, a sneak peek video titled “The Secret of Maeda and the One Who Swallowed the Najin” was released on Netflix Korea’s official YouTube channel, revealing the whereabouts of Myeong-Ja (Ji Woo), a key character in Part 2.
While it was revealed in Part 1 that Myung-ja drank water with najin in it, the preview video shows Maeda admitting Myung-ja back to Ongseong Hospital for the sake of her mother’s health.
It also shows a figure believed to be Myung-ja attacking passersby during the night, raising questions about whether she will turn into the second monster and what will happen to the child in her womb after she swallows the najin.
There’s also a scene where Maeda and the now-monsterised Seong-Sim (Kang Mal-geum) come face-to-face.
In Part 1, it was mentioned that Seong-Sim was brought to Ongseong Hospital on Maeda’s ‘special’ instructions, and in the preview footage, Maeda is seen saying, “You’re still alive, Sei-Sing,” when confronted with a caged Seong-Sim, raising questions about the history between the two.
“Tae-sang and Chae-ok will face the dark forces that still exist and the horrors that have spread outside Ongseong Hospital,” the producers said, teasing the climax of Part 2.
Part 1 of “Gyeongseong Creature” is streaming now, and Part 2 will be released on Netflix at 5pm today.
