tvN’s “Lovely Runner” Byeon Woo-Seok suspects that Kim Hye-Yoon is from future as they share a drunken kiss.
The epilogue, which featured a surprise in which a drunken Kim Hye-Yoon kissed Byun Woo-Seok, was a thrilling surprise.
Im Sol (Kim Hye-Yoon) is overwhelmed with guilt when she realizes that she is the cause of Ryu Sun-Jae’s (Byeon Woo-Seok) death in yet another repeat of fate.
Kim Young-Soo (Heo Hyung-Kyu), a serial killer who had targeted Im Sol, has attempted to kill Ryu Sun-Jae in retaliation for a murder that was thwarted because of him, especially since there was only one chance to go back in time left on Ryu Sun-Jae’s watch.
With the promise, “It all happened because of me, so I’ll change it this time,” Im Sol traveled back in time to stop the tragedy from starting and save Ryu Sun-Jae.
She arrived in the past on 17 March, two months earlier than the date of the incident, 10 May 2009.
However, as fate would have it, Ryu Sun-Jae picked up Im Sol after she tripped and fell under the statue, showing the two of them meeting when they were 20 years old.
What’s more, Ryu Sun-Jae is in the same physical education department as Im Geum (played by Song Ji-Ho), so Im Sol buried her happiness at being reunited with Ryu Sun-Jae and told the police station, “The guy who kidnapped me. It’s the same guy from the Jooyang Reservoir case,” and hopes that the police catch the serial killer.
Meanwhile, Ryu Sun-Jae took care of Im Sol’s every move.
When Baek In-Hyuk (played by Lee Seung-Hyub), who was even worse, asked him, “Don’t you have any pride?”, he replied, “No. I don’t have any,” Ryu Sun-Jae was in love with Im Sol so much that he joined the same university to see her.
Then, the long-awaited new student welcome MT arrived. Im-Sol avoided running into Ryu Sun-Jae, and when he saved her from a rope snare that caught her ankle in danger, he worried, “You’re trying to run away from me, I’ve seen it all, you’ve been avoiding me all day,” and then exploded with anger, “Do you hate me that much?” breaking Im-Sol’s heart.
The tender scene of Im Sol pushing Ryu Seon-Jae away because she loved him and Ryu Seon-Jae showing his love for her so that he would not be pushed away made our hearts ache.
Later, when Ryu Sun-Jae saw Im Sol wandering around in the forest drunk, he watched her from afar, unable to approach her. “I should have said I missed you then. I wonder if nothing would have happened then?” and shed tears at the happy memories she had with 34-year-old Ryu Sun-Jae.
In the end, Im Sol was still worried about Ryu Sun-Jae, who was more concerned about himself than her, and she burst into tears for Ryu Sun-Jae, who saved her life and almost died because of her, saying, “Just pretend you don’t know me, don’t worry about me, wherever I am, whatever happens, please leave me alone.” However, Ryu Sun-Jae, who didn’t tell her, showed his hurt by saying, “Then don’t let me bother you,” but then he was heartbroken by Im Sol’s tears and said, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry for everything, so don’t cry,” showing that he only knew Im Sol, amplifying his sadness.
At the end of the episode, Ryu Sun-Jae finally realizes that Im Sol is from the future.
While drunk and on Ryu Sun-Jae’s back, Im Sol hummed and sang along to ‘Rain Showers.’
It was a song that he had never shared with anyone but Baek In-Hyuk, and Im-Sol secretly told him, “I’ll change it this time. Before I go back,” when asked where, she replied “The future. To my time,” which confused Ryu Sun-Jae.
The next day, Ryu Sun-Jae went for the kill, asking Im Sol, “How do you know and sing that song? I’ve never heard it from anyone but In Hyuk, so how do you know?” and then, in an intriguing twist, asking a flustered and speechless Im Sol, “Are you going back to your time? Who are you? Are you really from the future?”, leaving us even more curious about the next episode.
Most importantly, the epilogue revealed a drunken kiss between Ryu Sun-Jae and Im Sol.
The epilogue revealed a drunken kiss between Ryu Sun-Jae and Im Sol, and we wonder if their redemptive romance will overcome the hardships of time and get a happy ending, especially since there is a myth in school that ‘the person who kisses the first freshman MT every year gets married.
