“Good Boy” is a comic drama that chronicles the experiences of a team of Olympic medalists who, confronted with financial difficulties, limited career durations, injuries, and various obstacles, transition into special police officers.
United as the “Olympics Avengers,” they leverage the distinctive skills honed during their athletic careers to combat violent crime.
The cast includes Park Bo Gum, Kim So Hyun, Oh Jung Se, Lee Sang Yi, Heo Sung Tae, and Tae Won Suk.
Park Bo Gum – Yoon Dong Joo
Park Bo Gum takes on the role of Yoon Dong Joo, South Korea’s esteemed national boxer, displaying his well-defined and sun-kissed physique in a striking blue uniform.
Endowed with a natural aptitude for combat, Yoon Dong Joo rises to the status of an Olympic champion. However, following an unforeseen event, he falls into despair and embarks on a new journey as a police officer, where he rekindles his fighting instincts while confronting various injustices.
Kim So Hyun – Ji Han Na
Kim So Hyun adeptly embodies the character of Ji Han Na, a gold medalist in shooting.
Throughout her athletic career, Ji Han Na earned the title of the “Goddess of Shooting” due to her remarkable beauty and garnered a level of fame comparable to that of a celebrity.
Upon her retirement, she pursued her aspiration of becoming a police officer, following in her father’s footsteps, and currently holds the position of Senior Patrol Officer within the Special Investigation Team.
Lee Sang Yi – Kim Jong Hyun
Lee Sang Yi portrays Kim Jong Hyun, a gold medalist in fencing from South Korea.
Following his retirement from the sport, Kim Jong Hyun has transitioned into the role of Assistant Inspector within the Special Investigation Team.
As a distinguished graduate of the police academy, he is recognized for his dedication and hard work, applying the same relentless commitment to his efforts in apprehending criminals in this new capacity.
Heo Sung Tae – Go Man Sik
Heo Sung Tae portrays Go Man Sik, an Olympic bronze medalist in wrestling and the leader of the Special Violent Crime Unit.
Despite Go Man Sik’s deficiencies in strength and technique relative to his peers during his athletic career, he persevered and distinguished himself through his ability to endure rather than overpower his opponents.
This particular skill has proven to be immensely beneficial in his role as a police officer.
“Good Boy” is scheduled to debut in the latter half of 2024.
