“The Frog” is a mystery thriller that explores the lives of two pension owners existing in distinct timelines: Gu Sang Jun (Yoon Kye Sang), who operates a motel in the past, and Jeon Young Ha (Kim Yun Seok), who manages a pension in the present.
When both men encounter similar incidents, they respond with entirely different choices.
The recently released teaser showcases a serene forest setting where Gu Sang Jun and Jeon Young Ha are engaged in the upkeep of their respective motels.
As Gu Sang Jun tidies up his Lake View Motel and warmly welcomes guests, he reflects, “It was a run-of-the-mill motel in a country town.”
However, on a stormy summer night, an unforeseen visitor arrives, threatening to jeopardize everything Gu Sang Jun holds dear.
He recounts, “A couple of days ago, a madman stayed at my motel.”
In a parallel situation, Jeon Young Ha also faces an unwelcome guest, stating, “Right now, a crazy person is at my motel too,” which heightens the suspense regarding their connection.
Guest Yu Seong A (Go Min Si) unexpectedly inquires of Jeon Young Ha, “What if I asked you to sell me this house?”
Additionally, the arrival of ace detective Yun Bo Min (Lee Jung Eun) introduces further complexity to the unfolding mystery at the motel.
As the teaser concludes, Gu Sang Jun ponders, “A frog got hit by a stone thrown carelessly. Who threw the stone? Why did it have to hit me?”
