Plot
“Gwigoong” tells the story of the Eight Feet Tall spirit seeking revenge on the king, a female shaman standing against it, and an Imuri named Gang Cheol Yi.
In Korean folklore, an Imuri is a mythical being that resides in water for a thousand years and can turn into a dragon with the Yeouiju.
Bona will portray the role of Young Mae, the esteemed shaman’s only granddaughter. Growing up, she has experienced immense pressure to fulfill the footsteps of her ancestor.
Yook Sungjae has reportedly been offered a role as the son of a concubine who eventually becomes the royal inspector at Gyujanggak, the royal library in the Joseon Dynasty.
However, his character is later possessed by the malevolent spirit Imugi Gang Cheol Yi.
