Choi Yoon-young won the Best Female Actress in the Daily Drama category for “Woman in a Veil” at the 2023 KBS Acting Awards, held at KBS Hall in Yeouido-dong, Seoul from 31st to 1st of last month.
After receiving the award, Choi Yoon-young said through her agency, Blade Entertainment, “I’ve been digging the same well with acting since high school, but for the first time this year, I had a lot of personal worries about ‘can I do this anymore,’ so it’s meaningful and encouraging to work harder,” she said.
“I’m grateful to all the staff, including the directors of ‘Woman in a Veil,’ my co-stars, and my seniors and juniors, and it was an honour to work with such good people. I would like to sincerely thank the viewers for watching ‘Woman in a Veil’. I will work even harder,” she added.
In “Woman in a Veil,” which ended in August, Choi Yoon-young captivated viewers with her character of the ultimate villainess who gives back as much as she receives and cannot control her anger as the heiress Oh Se-rin, who has a wild personality.
As such, Choi Yoon-young not only enhanced the immersion of the drama by triggering the viewers’ anger every time despite being a first-time villainess, but also ended 2023 with attention as an “all-rounder” who is active in various fields such as drama, film, and entertainment.
In addition, Choi Yoon Young will make a special appearance in KBS2’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Fantastic Performer,” which is scheduled to premiere on the 2nd.
As Eun Mi-so, the mother of Yeon Wol (Hong Ye-ji), who is synonymous with gentle charisma, Choi Yoon-young will add to the drama’s excitement by showing that she values her daughter more than anyone else and is as skilled in swordplay as Yeon Pung-hak (Oh Ji Ho).
