“Frankly Speaking” Episode 2 Stills | Go Kyung-Pyo To Take Over The Awards Ceremony With His Sharp Tongue

“Frankly Speaking” Go Kyung Pyo’s honesty is heading to the awards ceremony.

On the first episode of the JTBC drama “Frankly Speaking,” which premiered on the 1st of this month, Go Kyung Pyo delivered a comical masterclass.

He filled 60 minutes of the drama without a single minute of boredom with his brilliant acting and powerful hard carries that concentrated his comic acting know-how.

In particular, after suffering an unexpected electric shock, he warns his first target, An Hamu, “Wake up. Nobody’s here to beat you up,” he bombards him with facts, loads up his ‘flame slap’, and splashes him with refreshing sparkling water.

The awakening sparked anticipation of who his ‘sharp tongue’ would be directed at this time, and immediately after the broadcast, various message boards exploded with reactions such as “It’s over already?”, “I feel like my hard work during the week will be relieved”, and “I watched it for the first time in a long time without worrying about it.”

The producers of “Frankly Speaking” have now revealed the second cautionary target of announcer Song Ki-Baek, played by Go Kyung-Pyo.

It’s a brand award ceremony that he’ll be hosting.

In the stills released ahead of the main broadcast, we see Ki-Baek’s impromptu situation, where he can no longer keep his thoughts to himself.

Standing in the host’s chair, Ki-baek is embarrassed about what he said.

And everyone at the awards ceremony, including entertainment writer On Woo-Joo (Kang Han-Na), singer Kim Jong-Hyuk (Joo Jong-Hyuk), Ki-baek’s senior announcer Yoon Ji-Hoo (Go Gyu-Pil), are watching Ki-Baek with puzzled eyes.

“I don’t know why you take out the attendance book when you receive an award,” he said to the winner, who had prepared a long speech, “You should say thank you normally! This is the sentiment of those who have had to sit through various boring award ceremonies.

Director Jang Ji-Yeon said, “This scene is the worst of Ki-Baek’s fears as he has lived a life filled with image-making. I wanted the viewers to be on board the journey of Ki-Baek’s life, so I discussed it with Go Kyung-Pyo and worked hard on the drama,” she said.

“I hope the awards ceremony scene goes well and connects with the viewers,” said Go Kyung-Pyo, who also expressed his hope that “the staff’s hard work on this scene will be seen. We put a lot of effort into it,” he said, amplifying the anticipation.

Episode 2 of “Frankly Speaking” will air on 2 February at 8.50 pm KST on JTBC. Viewers can also watch the K-drama an hour later on Netflix with English subtitles.
