Recently, Park Eun Bin sat down to talk about her latest tvN drama “Castaway Diva
” (written by Park Hye Ryeon, directed by Oh Chung Hwan), which ended on the 3rd December 2023.
“Castaway Diva” tells the story of Seo Mok Ha (played by Park Eun Bin), an aspiring singer who is rescued from a deserted island after 15 years. Park played the role of Seo Mok-ha, who was rescued after being stranded on a deserted island for 15 years due to an accident.
Park Eun Bin said, “When everyone was paying attention to me, I had a strong feeling that I should choose a project that I was drawn to rather than feeling pressure, so I easily chose ‘Castaway Diva’. “Actually, ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ was really difficult, so I thought I’d do the opposite this time and go easy,” she said. “But I had to be good at at least four things. I had to do learn swimming, singing, playing a guitar, and learn a dialect that I hadn’t done before.”
Park says she didn’t feel any pressure to show a new face, either, just to do her best with what she was given.
“I don’t choose a porject with the intention of showing something completely different from the previous work. I think I might lose the essence, so I choose something that I can stay true to the choice I made at the time.”
“I was in the middle of filming ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ when I was offered ‘Castaway Diva’ and the title caught my eye because it sounded interesting, so I read the script, wondering, ‘What is this about?
“I tend to look at the synopsis very carefully, but ‘Castaway Diva’ is the only one that made me read the script before the synopsis. I was curious to see how Mok-ha, who discovers the drone, would be portrayed in the Kdrama.”
“I was also curious to see how I could embody my face in a setting that is more like a fairy tale than a survival story, and how Mok-ha would fill the 15-year gap when she meets Yoon Ran-joo (Kim Hyo-jin), whom she has been fan for 15 years. I also wanted to find out what Mok-ha gained from living on a deserted island.”
